Management

Bioneur was founded in March of 2011 by Dick Meijer. He joined and "co-founded" Genzyme Europe BV in 1991. Initially in charge of commercial operations for its orphan drugs portfolio for the Northern, Central and Eastern European countries, Benelux, Greece and Portugal based in The Netherlands. He was co-founder of the Dutch Biopharmaceutical Industry Association, Biopharmind and Chairman of the Working Group on Orphan Drugs. In 2002 he relocated to the US to assume the position of Vice President – General Manager for the Asia Pacific region; I.e., Japan, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, South East Asia, Australasia, India, Sub–Saharan Africa and Canada based in Cambridge/Boston. He introduced 6 FDA and EMA approved orphan drugs in 27 countries.He is a Dutch native and permanent resident of the USA. Previously he held positions of increasing responsibility at Boehringer Mannheim, GD Searle and Baxter/Travenol.

He left Genzyme when it was acquired by Sanofi and started Bioneur in March 2011.

He is a biopharmaceutical veteran with over 30 years of experience in the medical, pharmaceutical and life science industry.

He studied International General Management at CEDEP, Centre Europeen D'Education Permanente in Fontainebleau, France, and at INSEAD in Singapore.
